Spring is the best season for watching Wild Salmon at the river. They need to prepare for the departure to the sea. So, they stay at the slow stream to take some small insects. It is the big chance to find them.

Petotoru River is one of the good place for such a watching. Also at this time, we filmed the fry of the wild chum salmon going around.

Juvenile of Masu Salmon and Japanese Dace use the main stream and fry of Chum Salmon use the side of the river and rewind flow.

At Chimaibetsu River, we can watch wild salmon and hatched salmon.Because there is the hatchery at the upstream of this river.

Usually, urban rivers has be changed to three-sided revetment, so it is hard to find slow flow in spring. But the fry of Masu Salmon stays at the tiny area in the side of rapid or small tributary.
